I have a Nikon D40 ...
I can not say with certainty, especially since I need to use the manual mode, I hardly, to use the automatic mode .. However, I know that if you use the automatic mode, the flash does not automatically appear ... and when they want it is the same, you have more time, there is little difference between automatic mode and P mode, which gives more control, so I do not think I believe you yourself have said. .
